Environmental Works
The environment plays a large role in Annie’s creations, whether she is creating figures in natural and recycled materials, painting on objects headed for the landfill, sculpting in wire, clay, snow or sand, she is a continuously thinking about Mother Earth. Most recently, Annie was commissioned to create a large scale sculpture for the Rozalia Project as part of their Earth Day clean up efforts. Calling her built sculpture “ The Real Lake Monster “ Annie worked with environmental leaders and fellow artists to engage the public in trash data collection followed by filling the sculpture with collected debris. This inspired opportunities for dialogue concerning the impact of litter and marine debris. Annie’s large figures out of natural materials created in cooperation with the public, were featured at Barge Canal (Burlington,VT) Clean Up Day.
Her recent painting “ Invest in the Environment '' and “Self Portrait” was exhibited at the Fleming Museum in a “Call and Response” and “Let the fabric speak” show through the Howard Arts Collective which she is a member.
